We are a member-led organisation who understands the importance, the passion and the challenges of the alcohol support sector.
In a changing policy and funding landscape, it can be hard for individual organisations to stay informed, resourced and most importantly visible.
By joining SACC, your organisation becomes part of a Scotland-wide network, working together to share expertise and have a common voice in shaping policy and sector support.
Membership is free for all eligible organisations
Membership is open to charitable organisations, registered in Scotland, whose activity is the provision of alcohol/addiction counselling and support in line with the SACC’s mission and aims.
Member organisations must be recognised members of either the Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA) and/or British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Specialist Training
Members benefit from access to specialist training for (volunteer) alcohol counsellors, delivered in partnership with member organisations and validated by COSCA.
Support for Supervisors
We provide support and information for counselling supervisors and agencies hosting trainee volunteer counsellors, helping to maintain safe and ethical practice in recruitment, supervision and accreditation.
Member-Led Governance
As a member-led organisation, SACC offers members an ongoing opportunity to shape our direction and priorities, ensuring we remain relevant and responsive to the realities of service delivery.
A Collective Voice
SACC represents the experience of member organisations and the people they support in national forums and consultations, helping to ensure that policy and funding decisions are informed by practice.
Shared Learning
Membership provides access to bespoke Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programmes as well as additional seminars, workshops and events to stay informed about developments affecting alcohol support services nationally.
